The revised draft splits those large actions into more specific components (for example, targeted ELD instruction split into multiple numbered actions; supplemental academic supports divided into targeted tiered supports, library access and data monitoring). Staff said the change is intended to make it easier for educational partners to see exactly which actions are funded and how dollars align to outcomes.
Funding context: staff described which new and existing revenue streams are planned to support LCAP actions. District-level allocations from LCFF supplemental and concentration funds were discussed and staff noted that some LCAP actions will rely on other restricted funding sources (Title I, Title II, Title III, Community Schools grant and other categorical funds). Staff emphasized the board will receive a final LCAP for adoption at a subsequent meeting after county feedback and any public comments are incorporated.
Public comment and board discussion No public comments were offered on the LCAP at the hearing. Board members praised the clearer, more specific action layout. Trustees asked whether existing positions that had been explicitly funded in the prior LCAP (for example, a PIO role, EL coordinator and counselors) remain funded; staff confirmed those positions remain in the LCAP.
Next steps Staff will incorporate any county office feedback and final board direction and return the LCAP for formal adoption at the next scheduled board meeting.
