Residents from Del Webb Northmatch, Watercolor and nearby developments told the North Las Vegas Planning Commission on June 11 that they oppose SUP 28-2025, a proposed vehicle, boat and RV service facility near Losee Road and Deer Springs Way, and delivered a petition signed by 53 residents asking the city to deny the application.
The petition and public comments came during the meeting’s public forum. “This vehicle, boat, and RV service facility will again increase traffic and provides absolutely no value for those of us living in this area,” said Donna Ross, a resident at 6752 Millbury Street in North Las Vegas. Ross said residents had previously asked the city for traffic controls; a requested traffic light was installed but was not yet operating.
Other local residents described similar concerns. “I don’t see how this business would help us in this community at all,” said Chris Middleton of 2638 April Green Court, who cited worries about congestion, overnight parking of vehicles waiting for service and impacts on neighborhood character. Vince Morel b Villan, 22850 Gold Ice Court, said the area already contains vehicle-focused uses including a car wash, convenience store and storage facility and that residents prefer restaurants, grocery options, clinics or other amenities that serve daily needs.
Janice Blackmore, manager of The Preserve apartments at Deer Springs and Losee, said she has observed a rise in crashes at the corner and opposed another collision or RV service center. “We do not need another collision center or RV area in that area,” she said, and added that residents need closer grocery and food options.
Planning staff later told the commission that the applicants for items 11 (SUP 23-2025) and 12 (SUP 28-2025) had requested those items be continued to the July 9 meeting; the staff announcement was made on the record during the same meeting. The continuance was recorded by staff and the items will return to the commission on July 9 unless the applicant withdraws or amends the request.
Why it matters: Residents said the proposal would increase traffic, noise and safety risks near family-oriented housing and does not match amenities they say would raise home values. The petition of 53 residents signals organized neighborhood opposition ahead of a future hearing.
Next steps: Planning staff will post the continued items for the July 9 agenda. The commission did not take a final vote on SUP 28-2025 at the June 11 meeting.
