Congressman Keith Self's district director briefs Prosper council on constituent services

Michelle Bishop, district director for U.S. Rep. Keith Self, addressed the Prosper Town Council during the citizens'comment portion on June 10 and described services the district office provides to constituents. Bishop said the congressman maintains an office in Washington, D.C., and district offices (McKinney and Greenville) and that roughly half of Prosper lies in the congressman's district.
Bishop outlined services the district office provides: passport assistance (the office has processed over 700 passports since 2023 and can assist with expedited requests), immigration casework in coordination with USCIS, Social Security and IRS case assistance, veterans programs (including the Congressional Veteran Commendation, for which nominations are open), service academy nominations (the office holds events to support applicants), the Congressional Art Competition, and other constituent programs. Bishop said staff can help with grants, postal issues, and other federal agency interactions.
Mayor and council members thanked Bishop for the briefing; Mayor noted that the congressman had nominated a Prosper resident, Anna Williams, for a military academy. Bishop encouraged residents to contact the district office for assistance and listed upcoming engagement opportunities such as "Coffee with Keith."
