Residents press for updated affordable-housing list; director commits to provide current list within 48 hours

Public commenters at the Miami-Dade County Housing Committee meeting pressed county officials for clearer, up-to-date information on senior and affordable housing available in the county.

Sharon Fraser Stevens, who described herself as an advocate with long-standing service on local advisory boards, said she is working with a 76-year-old senior who remains homeless and requested an updated, real-time list of housing options. Fraser said the last list she had was dated "02/2009" and that without current information she could not effectively help disabled seniors. Resident Paulette Darrow asked about time limits for specific sites and said she lives at Site 291.

Committee Chair Commissioner Aileen Higgins asked the director to follow up. Mr. Kogan (referred to in the transcript as the director) said staff would speak with Fraser to clarify the exact information she wanted and would provide the requested information within 48 hours.
