Treasure Island officials outline phased Western Waterfront park, promenade and plaza upgrades

Treasure Island Development Authority presenters detailed an 18‑month to 36‑month rollout of multiple Western Waterfront projects, saying Cityside Park will open next year and other landscape, promenade and parking work will follow over the next two to three years.

The presentation, led by Bob Beck with developer representative Magda Mitska, said Cityside Park’s paving and underground utilities are complete and planting and furniture are under way, with an anticipated opening in Q3 2025. “The park should be completed within a month or two,” Mitska said, adding there will be a “quarter‑mile promenade” linking the ferry landing with Marseille and the playground, and a half‑mile walk from the ferry through the park system.

Beck and Mitska reviewed a package of projects moving from south to north along the western edge of the island. Mitska said Clipper Cove Park (previously called Beach Park) is under contract and construction is expected to begin soon, with fencing installed in roughly two weeks and construction taking about 12 months. She described upgrades that include ADA‑compliant walkways, a new lawn, palm trees and activated beach access for kayak and stand‑up paddleboard rentals. “The whole park is going to be upgraded. All the walkways will meet ADA standards,” Mitska said.
