At its June 3 meeting the Town of Danvers Select Board approved routine minutes and several license applications and dealer-license transfers. The board also handled one withdrawal and the entertainment-license decision for the Larkin Event Center (covered in a separate article with conditions).
Approvals and board actions recorded during the meeting included:
- Minutes: The Select Board approved meeting minutes for May 8, 2025, and May 20, 2025. (Recorded on the record as approved; the clerk noted a 5–0 approval during roll call for the May minutes.)
- One‑day malt & wine license: The board approved an application from Rose and Gilligan Downey Cider House for a one-day malt and wine license for a company field day at Endicott Park (The Pavilion), Friday, June 13, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The clerk reported paperwork was in order and the board approved the application by voice vote.
- Dealer license transfers: The board held public hearings and approved transfer-of-ownership requests for the Herb Chambers Chevrolet dealership locations to Asbury Automotive Group (Asbury Danvers Chevrolet, 90 Andover St.; and Herb Chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat, 107 Andover St.). Town staff asked applicants to discourage car carriers from offloading vehicles in the Route 114 center turn lane; Asbury counsel said management would relay delivery instructions to carriers and urged residents to contact management if problems persist.
- Class 2 dealer license: The board approved Mas Grand Auto LLC d/b/a MAS Grand Auto 2 Electronics at Danvers for a class 2 (wholesale) dealer license; the applicant said no vehicles will be stored on site and the location will be used as an office for wholesale activity.
- Withdrawal: An all‑alcohol liquor license application for the Larkin Center was withdrawn by the applicant and was not heard.
- Entertainment license (Larkin): The board approved a seven‑day entertainment license for the Larkin Event Center with several conditions; the full list of conditions and a December follow-up appear in the separate article on the Larkin license.
Clerks confirmed paperwork for the applications was in order before votes. The board routinely approved the items by voice vote; where explicit tallies were recorded, minutes indicated a 5–0 approval for the May minutes.
