The Lower Moreland board reviewed a set of personnel motions, vendor contract renewals and technology items on June 3 and directed administration to bring formal motions to the June 17 meeting.
Personnel and contracts: The administration recommended board approval of multiple personnel motions including new hires for the high school and a long‑term substitute for music at the middle school, a change in status for an elementary instructional coach, unpaid leave requests and a proposed new internal posting for a lead technology assistant (salary shown at $55,000) to provide troubleshooting and coordinate the districts technicians. The personnel slate was presented by Missus Galdo and will be brought to the June 17 consent agenda for formal action.
Vendor renewals: The administration recommended renewals or extensions with a set of staffing and nursing vendors the district has used for several years. Highlights included a continuation of the Bayada nursing agreement (the presenter said a roughly 2% hourly rate increase), a two‑year extension with STS for substitute and paraprofessional services (with an initial year increase to be revisited pending the adopted budget), and shorter backup agreements with US Medical and GHR. The board discussed STSs on‑site paraprofessional liaison this year and heard that district staff generally view these vendors as reliable partners. Where evaluation reports were mentioned, administrators said negative feedback on individual temporary staff is rare and handled through vendor evaluation processes.
Technology and cybersecurity: The technology director reported a planned classroom refresh at the middle school that would install new Epson laser projectors and 100‑inch screens in each classroom and that the district will finance the upgrade via a four‑year lease. The director explained some classrooms have mounting and placement constraints and said older projectors removed from the middle school may be retained for mobile use where appropriate. The board also heard a recommendation to partner with the Chester County Intermediate Unit and Rubrik for off‑site backup and ransomware protection; the administration described the service as an annual subscription and said detailed costs and contract language will be provided with the June 17 agenda.
Most items in personnel, vendor renewals and technology were presented as recommendations and will appear on the June 17 consent/approval agenda for board action.
