The council voted 7‑0 on June 3 to approve the sign variance on the condition that the sign match the building’s dark color palette (black/dark bronze).
Planning staff explained the master sign plan for the medical campus set a specific sign color and font to match earlier signage. The applicant’s first submittal included a red face with blue lettering. After the sign board recommended approval of letter style but denied the color variance, the applicant provided an alternative in the dark bronze/black palette. The council approved the sign with the black/dark bronze color to be consistent with the campus appearance.
Applicant representative Nate Karam said his client preferred the brand colors but accepted the alternative option presented to meet the master sign plan’s requirements.
