The Bettendorf City Council on June 3 approved multiple resolutions and ordinances with routine roll-call votes.
Major items approved or advanced included:
- A resolution approving the plan, specifications and form of contract for the 2025 Alley Rehabilitation Program. The motion was moved by Council member Baden and passed unanimously on roll call.
- A resolution approving plan and form of contract for the reconstruction of 7th Street and Aaron Street (adjacent to Lincoln Park). Council member Nauman moved the resolution; the roll call was unanimous.
- First reading of an ordinance amending Bettendorf City Code, title 4 (health, sanitation and environment), chapter 3 (open burning). Council member Baden presented the first reading; the first reading passed unanimously.
- Two ordinances changing zoning for property near Forest Grove Drive and Wells Ferry Road passed on second reading: one from A-1 (agricultural/urban reserve) to R-2 (single-family residential) and the other from A-1 to C-3 (general business). Both second readings were moved by Council member Palczynski and passed unanimously.
- A second-reading ordinance amending the commercial and parking permitted use table (Bettendorf City Code section 11-4-5(b)) passed unanimously.
- Council agreed to waive a third reading on an item on staff recommendation; the waiver passed unanimously and the council then conducted the final reading of an ordinance amending Bettendorf City Code chapter 7 (location of polls, council authority). The final reading passed unanimously.
- The consent agenda passed unanimously.
