Board approves May/June budget amendments and preliminary federal program budgets

The Lincoln County Board of Education approved a series of budget amendments and preliminary federal program budgets during its June 2 meeting.
Finance presenter Mister Nicks reviewed a list of year-end payroll and grant-related adjustments across general and federal funds. Approved amendments included revisions to the general purpose school fund (payroll estimates of $348,560.65 and other smaller adjustments), donor-restricted booster club funds ($80,000), paid parental leave payroll estimates ($77,600), and several ESSER and e‑plan grant-related adjustments. The board also approved a $5,375,000 cleanup amendment to Fund 177 (education capital projects) reflecting preparation for remaining expenditures tied to the Highland Rim and other capital work.
Nicks presented preliminary budgets for the 142 School Federal Programs fund for fiscal year 2025–26, including state-approved e‑plan preliminary budgets: consolidated administration ($10,611.34), Title I ($788,032.61), Title II-A ($158,687.94), Title III ($10,163.76), Title IV ($59,767.14), Perkins CTE ($74,431.18), IDEA Part B ($1,046,300) and IDEA preschool ($146,366). The board approved the preliminary federal-program budgets and the month’s financial reports for funds 1402, 1403, 1406 and general ledgers.
All amendments and budgets presented by the finance office were approved by voice vote.
