Items on the consent calendar included (as read by the city clerk): a community composting program agreement; SB 1383 recovered organics waste project procurement and amendments; the citywide street rehabilitation (seal) Project 3A agreement; gasoline and diesel fuel procurement and delivery agreements; the 2025-26 school crossing guard agreement; adoption of the local streets and roads maintenance and rehabilitation project list for FY25-26; library personal-computer replacements; bulk mailing and printing agreements; senior transportation (Get Around) program agreement; FY25-26 general-obligation bond adoption item (as listed); bus transportation services for 2025 summer camp field trips; a side letter for the community services supervisor classification; legal advertising services agreement; East Hillsdale Park playground improvement contract; San Mateo County Measure K grant agreement; wastewater treatment plant digester 2 coating project agreement; and boards and commission appointment recommendations.
Vote: the city clerk called the roll and recorded yes votes from Council member Fernandez, Council member Swierko Guditsky, Council member Diaz Nash, Deputy Mayor Lorraine and Mayor Robert Newsome Jr.; the clerk announced, "Motion carries 5'0."
Boards and commissions: following the consent calendar the council administered the oath of office to newly appointed and reappointed commissioners, including youth commissioners. City staff and council then took a photograph with the appointees.
Public comment and follow-up: a member of the public, Kevin Simpson, asked that the school crossing guard agreement address a missing crossing guard at the bus stop near Humboldt and Cypress; City Manager Alex Zikian and staff agreed to follow up and report back, and the council asked that this be tracked as a follow-up item.
Implementation notes: individual contracts and agreements approved on the consent calendar will proceed through routine staff implementation and contract administration by the responsible departments listed in the agenda (Public Works, Parks & Recreation, Finance, Library, Police as applicable).
