At the June 2 Halifax County commissioners meeting, resident Juliet Harris told the board she lives about four miles north of Enfield and that home broadband service stops at Smith Chapel Baptist Church and resumes at Green Acres. She asked the county for help identifying who to contact or steps to take to bring service to her address.
Staff said someone from the county manager’s office will contact Harris if she leaves a phone number or email address with the clerk. The manager also told commissioners that internet-service providers would report back with updates at the July meeting; in the meantime the county will attempt address-specific research and follow up with Harris directly.
No formal action was taken during the public-comment period; the county clerk was asked to collect Harris’s contact information so staff can follow up.
