WFRC seeks city inputs for annual safety reporting; submissions due June 6

Kip (WFRC) reminded the committee that the Wasatch Front comprehensive safety action plan is a living document and that staff are preparing the annual report. He requested that jurisdictions provide a log of safety improvements included in recent constructed projects so WFRC can document and publicize local actions.
Kip said, off the top of his head, fatalities in the Wasatch region last year were the lowest in five years but serious injury crashes had increased. He asked staff and city representatives to complete and return the safety‑improvement reporting form that was emailed a week or two earlier. If a jurisdiction did not receive the email, Kip asked representatives to contact WFRC staff. He set a collection deadline of Friday, June 6 so staff can prepare and present the safety update to the council the following month.
Kip said the intent of the reporting is to keep safety measures visible in planning and project selection and to include these local improvements in the annual WFRC reporting.
