Director of Health and Wellness Karen Jimbo told the board the recommendation follows earlier presentations and asked the trustees to accept the district’s selection of the curriculum and related contracts. Trustee Devin Conley moved to adopt the package and Trustee Lisa Henry seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Several trustees and parents urged built‑in evaluation and a family opt‑out for the SEL survey. One parent asked for a one‑year contract and an explicit, opt‑out process for families because Panorama collects sensitive information. Jimbo said staff will incorporate evaluation timelines and review processes; the board’s motion adopted the package "as presented." The district record shows associated contracts are attached to the agenda item and will be administered under standard procurement procedures.
