Geary County approves Community Corrections vehicle trades; one commissioner abstains

Rhonda described three vendor referrals submitted in the packet and recommended purchasing a Chevy Malibu from Home Automotive and a 2025 Chevy Trailblazer from Jim Clark, trading in a county Fusion for the Trailblazer and a 2018 Malibu as part of the Malibu transaction.
Commissioners moved and seconded the two requests. The Malibu purchase from Home Automotive carried; the Trailblazer purchase from Jim Clark was approved "with one abstention," according to the meeting record. No dollar amounts for the purchases were recorded in the public discussion.
Rhonda said the vehicles are used across four counties as staff travel for intakes, court appearances and trainings, and that the buys were timed to the end of the fiscal year because the department expects to have remaining funds available.
The motions were carried as recorded: the Malibu purchase carried on the recorded vote; the Trailblazer purchase carried with one abstention.
