Tony presented the item and said it covers 17 locations. “For a total of $188,802 it's about a 4% increase from this last school year,” Tony said. He and other committee members said the contract helps ensure sites are regularly staffed and that relying on a contractor is preferable to using police officers for routine crossing duties.
Alderson Molson noted constituent crossing guards are satisfied with the contractor. The committee moved and seconded the contract approval; the chair called for a voice vote, and the item passed unanimously.
