Commissioners appoint Farris chair and Mondragon vice chair; committee seats assigned

The Planning Commission unanimously appointed Farris as chair and Mondragon as vice chair, and reviewed committee assignments for infrastructure, economic development and quality of life.
At the start of the meeting the Ridgecrest Planning Commission appointed leadership and reviewed committee assignments.
A commissioner nominated "Mister Farris" for chair and the commission voted in favor by voice. The commission then nominated and approved Commissioner Mondragon as vice chair. The motions were approved by unanimous voice votes.
Commissioners also reviewed standing committee assignments. Current committee rosters listed infrastructure, economic development and quality-of-life (parks and recreation). Staff and commissioners discussed whether any members wished to change assignments; one newly sworn-in commissioner (David) indicated availability to serve and commissioners agreed to finalize assignments, with follow-up to occur at the next meeting if additional time was needed.
