Council approves airport operating agreement, animal-shelter contract, landfill fencing and road-maintenance IGA

- Airport operating agreement: The Committee on Community Services recommended and council approved authorizing the county supervisor to enter into an airport operating agreement (motion and voice vote; one recusal noted). The committee previously moved this item and council approved it during the regular meeting.
- Charleston Animal Society agreement: The Committee on Finance recommended and council authorized the county supervisor to enter into an agreement with the Charleston Animal Society (motion carried by voice vote).
- Landfill fencing IFB: The Committee on Public Utilities recommended awarding the landfill fencing project IFB to Global Fencing and Supply LLC as low responsive bidder for 9,000 feet of additional perimeter fencing to prevent trespassers, in the amount of $236,425.92 from capital improvement funds. Council approved the award by voice vote.
- Goose Creek intergovernmental agreement (IGA): The Committee on Operations recommended a new IGA with Goose Creek concerning road maintenance that updates warranty processes and aligns with an existing IGA with the city of Hanahan; council approved the IGA by voice vote.
