The Finance Committee voted unanimously May 27 to recommend Ordinance 2025-11, an amendment to Budget Ordinance 2024-08 that would appropriate funds to pay insurance claims and other operational adjustments, and to add the ordinance to the city council agenda for consideration tonight.
Finance Committee Chairman Jeff Sassy moved the recommendation after Finance Director Tamara Ingersoll presented the request. Mary Platt said the committee typically brings a midyear budget amendment at this time of year and that recent damage “about 8 days ago” increased the need to adjust the budget. Ingersoll said the adjustments are covered within existing funds and do not require new outside funding.
Committee members raised no substantive questions during the discussion. The committee approved adding Ordinance 2025-11 to the council agenda and recommended approval by unanimous voice vote.
The ordinance amends Budget Ordinance 2024-08 to appropriate funds for insurance claims and other operational adjustments; specific line-item amounts were included in the committee packet but were not read into the record during discussion. The item will appear on the city council agenda later the same evening for final action.
