The North Platte City Planning Commission on May 27 recommended approval of file SU25‑008, a preliminary and final replat that divides Lot 9 of Swanson’s Addition into two parcels at 2821 Hoover Road in the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction.
Planning staff told commissioners that sewer service is available for the lots but water would require a private well and there is no CenturyLink service to the new lot; staff said the property owner must understand that a new residence on the created lot would require infrastructure improvements. Planning staff did not object to the plat. "Planning staff has no objection to the proposed subdivision," staff member Judy said during the meeting.
Commissioner Jett moved to recommend approval; Commissioner Davies seconded the motion. The commission approved the recommendation and directed staff to take the item to the City Council agenda for its June 3 meeting, where a public hearing will be held and the council will make the final decision.
The commission’s recommendation does not change utility requirements: any future separate residence will still need off‑site or on‑site water and utility improvements per city standards, planning staff said. The applicant was not present at the meeting.
The item will appear on the City Council agenda June 3, 2025, for final action.
