The Santa Maria Planning Commission approved the minutes for its April 16 meeting and voted to continue two agenda items, 5A and 5B, to the commission's next scheduled meeting.
The actions occurred during the commission's regular session after roll call established that Commissioner Lopez and Commissioner Seifert were present and Commissioner Blanco was absent. Chair Dickerson led the session and asked members whether they had read the April 16 minutes before a motion to approve was offered and seconded; the motion carried.
During the public hearing portion the chair noted rules for public comment, including a three-minute limit per speaker and a 15-minute total limit for the period, and referenced the Ralph M. Brown Act and the requirement that comments be addressed to the commission as a whole rather than to individual members. No members of the public spoke during the public comment period.
Later in the meeting a motion was made and seconded to continue agenda item 5A to the next meeting; the commission voted in favor and the motion carried. The commission then moved on to agenda item 5B and similarly voted to continue it to the next meeting; one commissioner announced an abstention during the vote on 5B, and the motion carried.
The commission heard no oral reports from staff and adjourned the meeting, with the chair announcing adjournment at the recorded time of "2 minutes 35 seconds."
