Deputy Planning Director Rob Stevens said NeighborWorks Housing (project sponsor) requested an extension of the two-year life of the Planning Board approval for 46–50 Winter Street in order to continue layering the state and federal subsidies required for the affordable housing project. The Planning Department recommended the extension and the board voted to grant an additional six‑month period consistent with the board’s authority to extend approvals in six-month increments.
The extension preserves the project’s planning approvals while the sponsor completes financing and permitting steps; the applicant must return for any additional extensions.
