Evansville Redevelopment Commission adopts resolution to capture full TIF revenue for year

The Evansville Redevelopment Commission voted unanimously May 20 to adopt Resolution 25 ERC 15, determining the commission will capture all tax-increment financing (TIF) revenues for the coming year, a procedural requirement under state law.

The resolution, required to be completed by June 15 under state law, was presented by a staff member who described the item as an annual procedural step. “This is one of those procedural traps that I hate every year,” the staff member said, adding that staff and a colleague named Landon had “both had panic attacks over this one.” The commission made the determination that it will capture the full amount of available TIF revenue for the year.
