School board approves agenda and consent items, moves to closed session

The Anoka-Hennepin School Board unanimously approved the work-session agenda and the consent agenda at the June 9 work session before later voting to close part of the meeting for attorney–client discussion.

At the start of the meeting, Co-Chair (unnamed in transcript opening) called for a motion to approve the agenda. The motion was moved and seconded and approved “with 4 in favor and 0 opposed.” The board repeated the same procedure to approve the consent agenda, with the clerk announcing “With 4 in favor and 0 opposed, the consent agenda passes.”

Near the end of the public session, the board voted to move into a closed session “pursuant to Minnesota Statute 13D.05, subdivision 3(b), for discussion of attorney–client privileged information” regarding litigation identified in the record as Female Athletes United v. Keith Ellison. Director D'Shane moved and Director Langenfeld seconded; the board approved the motion by voice vote with “4 in favor and 0 opposed.” The board then recessed briefly and proceeded to the closed session.

The votes were voice tallies recorded in the meeting transcript; no roll-call or individual roll-call tallies were included in the public transcript.

The board handled no additional formal motions with recorded outcomes in the public portion of the transcript.
