House appropriations subcommittee hears scores of legislative funding requests for museums, broadband, parks, housing and infrastructure

The Michigan House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor and Economic Opportunity spent the day hearing legislative‑directed spending requests from organizations across the state, receiving testimony on projects ranging from cultural‑museum expansions and emergency building repairs to broadband matching funds, wastewater infrastructure and workforce housing capacity.

Committee members heard more than two dozen presentations and follow‑up questions on specific dollar requests, priorities and local matches. Many presenters described projects as “shovel ready” or part of multi‑phase plans; several asked the subcommittee to consider one‑time appropriations to close funding gaps and unlock private or federal financing.
