On facilities, staff reported that camera installation is pending; technicians had evaluated placements and the shelter is waiting for installation. The shelter ordered three remaining kennel doors; the director said that order should complete the set. A roof leak in a kennel area was described as intermittent, depending on wind and rainfall, and the commission said the stained ceiling area could develop mold if not repaired.
The commission discussed a storage need and a proposed yard sale; the shelter submitted an official request for a yard sale but could not advertise until county approval is finalized. The shelter also reported having about $5,000 previously donated specifically for shed materials and asked the commissioners to consider soliciting local contractor bids to complete shed repairs because county maintenance staff were fully scheduled.
The commission also noted a local young man seeking to do an Eagle Scout project to build a donation box outside the shelter; the commission said it forwarded the request to county commissioners for approval.
Procedural actions recorded at the meeting included approval of the April 2025 minutes and the corrected February 2025 minutes, and a motion to adjourn; each motion was moved, seconded and approved by members present.
