City Council approves lot-line adjustment for applicant Kate Smoot

The adjustment splits a 1-acre parcel from a larger tract. Council member Michael Bass told Smoot the recorded map will need signatures and a Mylar for recording, saying, "I do think your father-in-law has to sign the map." City staff and the council explained the map must include the items required for recording and that signatures and notarization will be needed. Kendra, a city staff member, was asked to accept the Mylar for the council's signatures once it is prepared.
The council discussed technical recording steps rather than policy. Council members and the applicant reviewed the map on the dais; Kate Smoot confirmed she had the survey map, saying, "Yep. I got the map." Council members described the parcel as "a 1 acre parcel." The council also noted a recent annexation the applicant referenced; one council member said a new map will show the area annexed in August.
Other routine business on the agenda was handled in short order: the council approved the meeting agenda (moved by Jennifer Flynn) and approved the previous meeting minutes. The meeting concluded after a motion by Council member Michael Bass to adjourn, seconded by Council member David Joe, which carried by voice vote.
Council members and staff advised the applicant to obtain the required Mylar from the engineer and arrange for property-owner signatures and notary acknowledgement; the city will accept the Mylar for signature and recording once the documents are complete.
