County Attorney Chris Herron read Ordinance No. 230.1, a measure described as repealing the prior personnel ordinance and adopting a comprehensive revision of employee personnel policies, position classifications, and a step-grade compensation schedule.
Herron said the ordinance repeals the previous ordinance in its entirety and incorporates the new personnel policies, classifications, and procedures as an attachment. He also noted a clerical correction to a section number in the draft; court members agreed to make that correction. Section 3 of the ordinance adds the wage schedule and will be made effective retroactively to March 2024 because the county has already been using the schedule.
Magistrates moved and seconded a motion to approve the reading of Ordinance No. 230.1. The court voted in favor; no members voiced opposition during the roll call.
The court did not take further action on adoption at the meeting; the item recorded in the transcript was the reading and an approval of the reading. The ordinance and the attached personnel policy document will be the formal record once posted and made part of the county code.
