City staff asked the commission to authorize use of $50,000 in grant funds from Northwestern Energy to complete electrical connection work required to bring the Bill Roberts Golf Course solar array online.
Deputy Director Dan Coleman said the solar panels and conduit are installed at the site; the city needs the transformer, pulsing and cabling work to finalize the interconnection. Coleman requested authorization to use the $50,000 currently held in the city’s sustainability fund to pay those costs and complete the project.
A commissioner moved and the commission consented (unanimous consent recorded in the transcript) to permit staff to use the $50,000 to finish the Bill Roberts project; staff said the work will be completed and the array put into operation once the transformer and connections are installed.
