The Kent County committee voted to approve interview-team recommendations for several midyear vacancies and will forward those names to the full Board of Commissioners for final confirmation.
Administrator staff told the committee the interview team completed candidate interviews and recommended approval. Commissioner Michelle LeGrand moved to adopt the recommendations and Commissioner Merchant supported the motion. Commissioner Hennessy asked whether a candidate listed as a "consumer" role qualified when the applicant is a dentist; staff said the dentist is a traveling dentist who primarily serves long-term‑care and low-income facilities and was judged a suitable match for the consumer-designated seat.
After brief discussion, the committee voted unanimously to adopt the interview team's recommendations and forward the appointments to the full board at its next meeting. "Is there any discussion?" the chair asked; after none, the group moved and supported the recommendation and then recorded the ayes. The committee recorded no nays.
The committee's approval at this meeting will be transmitted to the full Board of Commissioners for final action; appointees will begin service only after full-board confirmation.
No specific candidate names or the boards to which they were nominated were announced in the committee record provided at the meeting; the administrator said the list is attached to the meeting packet and will proceed to the full board for final approval.
