The Agoura Hills City Council on Wednesday unanimously approved Ordinance No. 25-478 to amend the municipal code and change the Planning Commission regular meeting start time from 6:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Community Development Director Denise Thomas presented the proposal, saying the earlier start would align the commission with the city council staff meeting and allow public discussion items to occur earlier in the evening. "We surveyed the Planning Commission and they are in support of making this change," Thomas said.
Mayor Sylvester opened deliberations; Council member Chris Anstead, Mayor Pro Tem Wolf and Council member Deborah Klein Lopez said they supported the adjustment. Wolf noted that many current council members previously served on the Planning Commission and agreed the earlier start made sense. No public comments were received during the hearing.
The council voted by roll call: Council member Anderson — yes; Council member Anstead — yes; Council member Klein Lopez — yes; Mayor Pro Tem Wolf — yes; Mayor Sylvester — yes. Mayor Sylvester announced the motion carried 5-0.
The ordinance was introduced after council action to waive full reading. No amendments were proposed during the meeting. The Planning Commission start-time change takes effect following the ordinance introduction and the city's standard adoption process.
