On fiscal policies, Wimmer and board member Mr. Pickler discussed adding language in Policy 656 (collection actions) to include collection agencies and other lawful options in addition to small‑claims court. "I'm not an attorney, but I like to pretend I am sometimes," Pickler said, explaining he favored broader, lower‑cost collection options.
The board also reviewed proposed revisions to Policy 830 (use of facilities). Administration said they will notify regular community users of a new pricing structure now and implement the fee change on Jan. 1 to allow groups time to adjust and because the calendar year aligns with many organizations’ budgets.
Board members agreed to bring the fiscal and facilities policy revisions back for formal reading at the next meeting; Wimmer recommended that significant wording shifts also be returned for reading so the board could choose to act then.
