The School Committee approved the summative evaluation of Superintendent Jim Adams at the July 11 meeting, reporting an overall rating of "proficient" with several "exemplary" ratings on specific standards.
"Mister Adams continues to be an asset to our district and community. His leadership is rooted in building strong relationships that facilitate communication and collaboration," read a portion of the committees evaluation summary presented to the committee. The presentation noted advancement on priorities including social-emotional development, curriculum alignment and budget work while acknowledging that several goals are multi-year and remain in progress.
The committees consolidated goal review indicated the following: safety-drill and resource-management goals were met; policy review and some other items showed significant progress but remain longer-term efforts; and work on MTSS (multi-tiered system of supports) and communications continued. Committee members said the composite ratings are the result of individual member inputs and gave the superintendent credit for team-building and staff retention.
A motion to approve the superintendents summative evaluation as presented was made and passed by voice vote; the minutes record "Aye" votes without a roll-call tally.
