Perryton ISD staff presented preliminary figures for the district’s taxable values and reported current average daily attendance (ADA) that is below the budgeted projection.
The business officer noted preliminary taxable values are not final and that district planning uses multiple scenarios: a five-year average projection would place taxable values around $1.16 billion; using the lowest of the past five years would place values near $1.10 billion; an upper bound scenario (about 10% higher than preliminary) would reach roughly $1.2 billion. Final certified values were expected on July 25, the staff member said.
On attendance, the district reported ADA around 1,650 as of the most recent Friday, approximately 100 students fewer than the number budgeted for the year. Staff said these numbers will inform budget planning for the coming year.
No formal tax-rate or budget adoption votes were taken at the meeting; staff framed the data as preparatory for upcoming budget decisions.
