The Moab Tourism Advisory Board voted on June 10, 2025, to use a $25,000 marketing contribution from Contour Airlines to fund airport marketing, including an immediate billboard at Canyonlands Regional Airport. Board members said the billboard would promote Contours flights to Denver and Phoenix and that the Moab Office of Tourism should coordinate messaging and placement with the airport director.
Board members noted Contour offered $25,000 to support marketing and that the billboard cost is roughly $2,000; the contribution is intended to be used at the boards discretion to promote air service. Staff said the office will work with Madden/agency partners and Contour to determine media placement and the approach to spending the remainder of the contribution.
A motion to use Contours contribution for the airport billboard was called and the chair recorded the vote as unanimous. The board directed staff to coordinate with the airport director and the Moab Office of Tourism on creative and placement and to report back on the marketing plan.
The board also reiterated prior practice of having the Office of Tourism coordinate airline-related marketing, and members agreed that a funded billboard is an efficient immediate use of the contribution while the office finalizes a broader media plan.
