The Planning and Zoning Commission denied a site-plan request for an incidental display (an ATM) on a vacant parcel, after staff said the proposal failed to meet multiple Unified Development Code and Plan Development District 70 design standards.
Planning staff explained the proposal was not adjacent to an existing business, lacked covered sidewalks, landscaping standards and required masonry materials, and proposed a metal screening wall that does not meet the district’s nonresidential design standards. Staff said the installation did not meet the design requirements intended to blend new nonresidential features with surrounding development, and the applicant was not present to answer questions.
Because the applicant did not appear, staff recommended denial. A commissioner moved to deny SP2025-018 and the commission approved the denial. The denial was recorded during the meeting; staff emphasized the lack of required design features as the basis for the recommendation.
