Commissioners discuss formally including IT in county project planning; no policy adopted

"We need to codify so that facilities, everybody that's involved, and it's not just buildings, it's also parks and other infrastructure," Covey said.
County staff and other commissioners agreed IT should be included at key points, but they expressed concern about creating a burdensome checklist that ties up IT resources. A staff member suggested the requirement might be better handled as a procedure or checklist rather than a written policy.
Commissioner Covey withdrew a motion to adopt language at the meeting and asked county staff (Rebecca and Richard, referenced in the discussion) to return with a proposed procedure or policy placement for the court to consider. The court also agreed to delay item 37 until IT could review related software procurement.
No vote was taken on codifying IT inclusion; the court directed staff to draft recommended language and return to a future meeting for consideration.
