The consultant said market timing and participation were representative and recommended the 42-month award because it had the lowest price and the county already has a reviewed contract with Constellation.
The consultant also said Constellation had indicated it might agree to waive a separate June capacity charge of about $2,400; the waiver would be negotiated outside the formal auction process and was not guaranteed. The consultant said the county requested a waiver but noted that the requested waiver was outside the scope of the auction comparison.
Commissioners moved to add an agenda item to permit the award at the meeting, then voted to accept the Constellation proposal. One commissioner thanked the consultant and county staff who managed procurement and market analysis.
The motion calls for staff to finalize contract paperwork and complete an e-signature process. The board did not adopt additional tariff changes or budget appropriations at the meeting; contract start is expected to align with the county’s July metering date.
