Council member Gonzalo Sanchez read a proclamation noting the bicycle's contribution to sustainable transportation and public health and encouraging residents to ride and to consider serving on the county bicycle and pedestrian advisory committee. A representative from the Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMSI/TAMSIE) thanked the council for the proclamation and said the agency is seeking two committee members and an alternate from South County.
Council members said two applicants had already expressed interest in serving on the county committee and asked staff to distribute application information to residents.
The proclamation was followed by photos with youth council members and agency representatives.
