Prosper planning commission reviews council approvals, hears update on Prosper Oaks and July schedule

At its June 3 meeting, the Prosper Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed actions taken by the town council and heard staff updates on upcoming items, including a planned development for a subdivision called Prosper Oaks and a possible change to the commissionJuly meeting schedule.
Planning staff reported that at the council's May 27 meeting a revised façade plan for a lot in the Gates of Prosper development was approved; staff said façade changes require town council approval. Staff also said the council approved a notice of appeals by a 7‑0 vote.
Staff told commissioners they expect a zoning case to appear before the commission for a planned development for Prosper Oaks, described in the presentation as a residential subdivision of about a 90‑acre tract on the west side of town near Parvin Road and "near 1385." Staff said one tract will be conventional single‑family and another will be an age‑restricted single‑family tract, and that the consent agenda for future P&Z meetings is still being determined.
"That is gonna be a residential subdivision. One tract of it is gonna be single family and the other tract of it is gonna be age restricted single family," Planning staff said.
Staff also said a Unified Development Code work session will address chapter 10 and chapter 16; commissioners asked staff to circulate the chapter PDFs in advance.
On scheduling, Town staff member David reminded the commission that July 4 falls on a Friday this year and that the council has canceled its July 8 meeting. David said staff was proposing the commission consider taking off the July 1 meeting so the commission would meet only on July 15 in July. Commissioners indicated general agreement but did not take a formal vote.
No formal commission action was recorded on the Prosper Oaks matter or the July meeting schedule during the June 3 session; both were presented as upcoming items for future meetings.
