The Lake County Board of Supervisors approved a set of amendments to existing behavioral-health contracts to continue specialty mental-health and residential support services.
Key actions approved: - Amendment No. 4 to the agreement with Redwood Community Services Inc. to provide specialty mental-health services for the Lake County RAP program, foster care and intensive services foster care (ISFC) programs for fiscal years 2022-2025 in the amount of $6,200,000. - Amendment No. 2 to the agreement with Manzanita House for adult residential support services and specialty mental-health services for fiscal years 2022-2025 in the amount of $828,000. - Amendment No. 2 to the agreement with Clover Valley Guest Home for adult residential support services and specialty mental-health services for fiscal years 2022-2025 in the amount of $650,000.
Director of Behavioral Health (presenting official) said the multi-year agreements support board priorities to expand and sustain specialty mental-health services for youth and adults in the county. The board heard praise that Redwood has expanded services in South County/Clearlake, where need is high.
The board approved each amendment by voice vote.
Why it matters: The contract amendments fund services for foster youth, intensive foster-care mental-health treatment and residential supports for adults, including programs that provide placements and wraparound services. The amendments extend funding across multiple fiscal years and reflect ongoing purchases of community-based care.
