Town staff and trustees are conducting final-stage interviews for the town manager search, with a public meet-and-greet scheduled for the evening of June 12 and in-depth interviews on June 13, the commission was told.
A commissioner said the search narrowed from 48 applications to seven to four finalists. "We have 4 fantastic candidates as far as I can tell," a staff speaker said, and commissioners were encouraged to attend because the manager's role includes engagement with commissions and the public.
The public meet-and-greet is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on June 12 at the Third Street Center, the commission heard. Commissioners were asked to provide rapid feedback: the process includes short forms or cards to fill out during the meet-and-greet and a quick turnaround so trustees can finalize their decision the following day if possible.
Commissioners were also told a select committee of professional managers may participate in interviews on June 13. No formal commission action was required; the update was informational and intended to encourage participation in the hiring process.
