County staff said Brian Long started as the Road & Bridge supervisor the previous day. Staff reported crews working on culverts, ditching and feeder road rock; they described a six-week cycle for maintenance passes and said inmate crews were assisting with trash pickup.
On Bray Road, staff said they removed a stop sign at the request of two commissioners and instead installed a cautional "truck entrance" sign with a yellow flasher and a dangerous-intersection warning. Staff said the flashing caution sign will continue to operate and recommended sending a spotter during early truck movements to improve safety.
Staff said overlays are scheduled on several roads (Rose Off D Highway, Terrace Gardens, London, Broom, Sugar Grove) and that work will proceed depending on weather and contractor schedules, with an anticipated completion window extending into September for multiple projects. Staff reported that the bridge replacement on Albury Bridal is on schedule for the bridge to be completed by the end of the month but that the full road/opening will not occur until September.
Commissioners and staff also described localized concerns such as sight-line trimming, safety around school pick-up areas (possible one-way traffic patterns), and residents' requests for targeted signage. Staff said they will assemble a list for striping and bids and coordinate bridge timing with overlay schedules to minimize rework.
No formal county ordinance changes were proposed; staff updates focused on operational planning and scheduling.
