Porterville’s parcel map committee on April 16 approved Tentative Parcel Map 2025001, a proposal to divide an existing 3.12-acre lot at 1525 West North Grand Avenue into two parcels. The committee voted 3-0 to approve the map with the conditions recommended by staff.
The proposed division would create Parcel 1 of about 17,178 square feet and Parcel 2 of about 120,156 square feet, on land currently zoned Low Density Residential and designated Low Density Residential in the General Plan, staff said. Jeff O'Neil, city planner, presented the parcel dimensions and confirmed there were no outstanding staff objections that would block approval at the parcel map committee level.
The motion to approve the tentative parcel map was made on the record and seconded. Committee members indicated support during a roll-call vote; the clerk recorded three ayes and the motion carried. Oscar Cepeda, committee chairperson and associate planner, later confirmed that the tentative parcel map was approved with the conditions of approval discussed during the meeting.
What happens next: staff will forward conditions of approval and the tentative map through normal processing for recordation and final map checks. The committee did not record any public comments during the hearing.
