Buddy Beatty, representing Beatty Land, AMB Transport and AMB Group, told the council his company has operated as a trucking business at that location for decades and requested the rezoning so the operation can continue. “We’ve been operating there as a trucking company for 30 years,” Beatty said.
Councilmembers noted the rezoning aligns with the city’s recent master plan designation for the corridor. A councilmember praised the property’s recent rebuilding, saying the new structure is an asset to employees and customers and “gives us real hope for what our city can become.” The council did not record any conditions on the ordinance during the public hearing.
Ordinance 49-25 transfers the property classification from business to commercial for the parcel identified in the hearing. The motion to adopt carried on the vote recorded at the meeting; no amendments or follow-up directions were recorded on the transcript.
The rezoning will allow Beatty Land Holdings LLC to proceed under a commercial zoning classification. The council did not specify additional approvals, permit conditions or required follow-up reports during the session.
