Wright County approves township appointment, grants courthouse parking for farmers market and schedules website maintenance

The Wright County Board accepted the December resignation of Vernon Township Trustee John Hayden and appointed Kent Telkie to fill the vacancy through Dec. 31, 2028. The motion to receive the resignation and the subsequent appointment were approved unanimously.
Supervisors approved use of the courthouse parking lot for the 2025 Marion Farmers Market season; the market was moved to the lot because the courthouse lawn is under construction. The board also approved continuing participation with CICS (the local mental health and disability services provider) through the MHDS closeout process, allowing continuity of services during transition.
Wright County Economic Development staff, with members of the county website committee including Andy Flagg and Courtney Morris, updated supervisors on an upcoming website maintenance window planned Tuesday, June 3 through Friday, June 6. Staff said maintenance will not interrupt normal public use (links, forms, and the Beacon system will continue to work) but county offices will not be able to post updates, such as transfer book additions or new job postings, during that period. Staff asked departments to submit any items that must appear on the site before maintenance begins.
Other administrative items reported included a final voucher for a bridge project (BRSDashSWAP-C099/100-FF-99) completed in 2022 and staff updates on meetings and events; the board accepted those routine updates.
