During superintendent communications, the superintendent reported that recent storms prompted an early dismissal and that subsequent power outages required the district to use an emergency non-traditional instruction (NTI) day, which the district said was approved by the Kentucky Department of Education. The superintendent also noted the district’s new school-resource-officer (SRO) vehicles, saying the cars have been “stickered up” and asking board members to look for them in the community.
On personnel-process matters, the board discussed the superintendent search timeline: the application deadline was stated as June 2, and the board tentatively scheduled the search committee to meet on June 3 to begin reviewing applications and to plan interviews. The board chair asked members to determine how many candidate interviews each board member would prefer so the search committee can provide an appropriate number of candidates for interview rounds.
The board approved the consent agenda and adjourned. The board’s next regular meeting was scheduled for June 3, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the central office.
