The Board approved a purchase order to Michigan Engineering Group and IncomePower for the supply and installation of two dual‑head, 19.2 kW electric vehicle charging stations at the Administration Building, to be funded with Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) funds previously awarded to the township.
Clerk Seager moved the approval and Trustee Berninski supported the motion. Staff said the township received four responses to a recent RFP and selected Michigan Engineering Group via the responsible contracting scoring process. The procurement covers planning, installation, testing and a maintenance support agreement; installation requires adding two 100‑amp breakers to provide optimal output. Each dual‑head station will accommodate two vehicles simultaneously.
Staff said the township will set a user fee for charging (flat or time-of-day) and that revenue will be split with a portion returned to the township (an 80/20 split for revenue to the township was noted in discussion). Staff also mentioned other planned chargers at township parks, including a Fellows Creek location being installed with DTE, but said additional EECBG-funded chargers are currently on hold while federal funds are frozen.
The board approved the purchase order and associated budget amendment.
