Committee advances bill revising vehicular homicide provisions; fiscal note noted

Wayne Thorthey of the Legislative Counsel Bureau fiscal analysis division told the committee there was support testimony from local governments and DUI advocacy groups and no testimony in opposition or neutral. Thorthey said there was a fiscal note from the Department of Corrections estimating an impact related to an increased offender population in future biennia.
Committee members moved to "do pass" the bill; Senator Wynne moved the motion and Senator Cannizzaro seconded. The motion carried and the committee provided the floor statement to Senator Stone.
