Senate Civil Service and Pensions committee reports more than two dozen bills to floor and finance panels

The New York State Senate Standing Committee on Civil Service and Pensions met in May 2025 and moved more than two dozen bills — largely individual civil‑service exam authorizations and changes to retirement service credit or benefit rules — to either the Senate floor or the finance committee for further consideration.

Senator Robert Jackson, chair of the committee, opened the session and presided over the reading of each bill’s title. Senator White, the panel’s ranking member, and staff read or recorded votes and referrals. Most measures were approved by voice vote and recorded as unanimous (6–0) where a tally was given. At the close of the hearing Senator Jackson said, "this is the last meeting of this session."
